thoughts on a spiral

They don't care The only time people care Or even notice Is when the sadness Turns to anger They don't care If you're tired You're just lazy They don't care If you're upset It's "just one of those days" You're the inconvenience You're the problem You're in the way You're an inconvenience You're not good enough You're not doing enough You don't belong You should just go Go Go Go You take up space You're not worthy of You're in the way You don't matter They don't care They don't notice There's blood Staining your hands But they only see The anger Behind the grief And pain In your eyes.

Perfect.

You are not perfect. Of course you're not. But you are pieces and bits Of complex feeling Emotion Thought Movement Action Development Growth And you are not perfect. You were not born to be great at everything. You were not born to succeed in everything. But here you are Trying Trying Trying To do your best. And god I'm so proud of you. You are not perfect But you are you. And I love you.

Plastic

Pick at plastic Tear it away Light it with matches Watch it melt Durable Non-degradable Melting slowly In a puddle Of its own Mistake Hard plastic Tap it once Break a nail Rip it up It's burnt now Charred Blackened Scarred Plastic

Its June. (I Am Tired of Being Brave.)

Do they know The fate they've come to Barefooted and pale Beneath mountains of dirt. A fate one takes Unescapable Leaving you drowning Drowning Drowning Behind worms and rotting flesh. To step on one Is a dishonour to the dead But not half of the dead Died an honourable death. They all lie underneath the mud It's started to rain Mold and rust cover their names It's been years since I saw them. The gate creaks lowly The pavement is wet I can't help but watch. It's June I am tired of being brave. (*title and poem inspired by The Truth The Dead Know by Anne Sexton)

Right Person, Wrong Time.

We were always destined to fail. Right person Right feelings Right moments Wrong time. Both of us. We knew I would end up with her Even if I still loved (love) you. We (everyone) knew you would end up with them Even if you tried your hardest to make me believe you wouldn't. They spent Six months Trying to get you from me And they won I was tired of fighting it When you'd be happier with them. And we knew My feelings for her And her stipulations Outweighed my feelings for you Even if they were so strong And still are. Right person Right feeling Right moment Wrong time.

Four People Liked Your Story.

People look Likes Views A cry for help People look But still No one asks If a cry isn't enough Did it ever really matter Or should you just Pretend you're okay Once again? Day in Day out Bad thoughts Bad feelings No one notices Day in Day out Posting bad things Getting views and likes Still no one asks Is it worth it To bare yourself To the world If all they do Is cast a fleeting glance And turn the other way?

Black Sheep

I am the black sheep Within my friends Within my leadership.  People would survive without me People would get by without my bossing. I'm unnecessary.  I don't fit in. I don't belong. I am the black sheep.

Peppermint

It tastes like peppermint. It looks like it too. The scent of it burns your nose and makes you eyes water but you can't help but get addicted. The thing that calms you when you're afraid or upset or alone. The taste burns your throat as it goes down, blinding your teeth and scorching your neck. The cold makes it colder and burn a bit but it's that burn that makes it okay. The way the red melts into the white And they look as one Like how they're meant to be Even if everyone else hates it. It's an acquired taste. Many hate it. Many despise it. But you love it. The soothing scent and feel and taste. How the red runs over the white Never bothering it Almost as if it's coming back home. So. It tastes like peppermint. And when the world can't accept it anymore, Perhaps the mints turn into gums and canes and bites. Maybe they get stronger and slowly start to burn more. But even then, it's what keeps you alive.

E.

You scare me. Genuinely. It's stupid to feel so scared of you But I can't help it. Did I ever matter to you? Or did you just want someone to tell you You were amazing? I brought it on myself. I led you on. I asked for it. I wanted it. I've never been so messed up Over something so small. Hands, mouths, tears, scars And what scares me most Of it all Is one awkward mistake. I'd ruin your reputation. I'd ruin your friends. I'd ruin you. I love you I care about you I never want you to be put out By those you love. I know the feeling too much To ever want you to feel it too. Even if its honest I'll keep my mouth shut. I'll pretend it didn't happen. I'll smile around you And pretend you're a good person Even if I know.

Survival Of The Fittest

Have you ever felt so scared of something that you can’t control? Have you ever felt so scared of something you can? What if that thing was yourself? Would you put it down like anything else you’re afraid of? Sure, the jokes used to be funny When you didn’t believe they could ever be true But then the possibility grew And you slowly started to hate the cracks and the laughs People will always tell you you can choose your path That you can make yourself do whatever you like I try to believe that, I do But sometimes the fear overcomes the faith But you’d never let anyone know your fears Because they’d just label you as crazy And you know you are a threat to people around you But survival is about being the last man alive And damn them if they think you’re going down first.
